Wilmington, DE, Aug 05, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – As business travel and events come back to life, the historic HOTEL DU PONT in Wilmington, a property of PM Hotel Group, celebrates 110 years since its inauguration in 1911 with a new visual identity, refreshed brand and relaunch of the website to support several recent key hires in its events, catering and customer services departments.

Philadelphia’s WFGD studio worked closely with hotel management and PM Hotel Group to create a renewed brand identity that conveys the hotel’s modern sensibility, luxury amenities and accessible style.

“Building on the existing brand, this refresh maintains the style and integrity of Wilmington’s iconic landmark. The objective is to create a look that aligns with the avant-garde HOTEL DU PONT, while honoring its heritage ”, explains Jenny Yip, partner of WFGD Studio.

The new design is inspired by the details of the building, the grandeur of the spaces and the history of the hotel. The updated branding elements are bold yet elegant, to welcome longtime guests and attract new visitors. The balance of white space, a limited color palette, and vintage-inspired typography help create a modern branding system for the luxury property. A collection of brands from the new visual suite have been thoughtfully integrated throughout the customer experience, from leather coasters to new suites to key cards, menus and more to deliver a redesigned and engaging guest journey.

The ethic of HOTEL DU PONT’s renewed brand, “History Unscripted”, is based on both the historic prestige of luxury property as well as its innate ability to create lasting memories through hospitality and outstanding customer service.

“As we mulled over a new visual identity, a renewed brand identity and a creative sequel for the legendary property, we wanted to capture Wilmington’s rich history and revitalized energy as well as the hotel’s personality and effortless style. chic. The Refresh is the first holistic update in over 50 years and brings a fresh take on the property acquired by the Buccini / Pollin Group (BPG) in 2017. Other BPG projects include Deco food hall (2019), a re -imagination of historic Green Room restaurants like Le Cavalier (Historic Hotels of America’s Best Historic Restaurant 2020), the luxury apartment development 101 DuPont Place and the construction of the world headquarters of Chemours Inc. undergoing major renovations by Stokes Architecture of Philadelphia.
